Skin Peels

Restore skin’s radiance and glow

All about skin peels

Skin peels remove damaged outer layers of skin to reveal smoother, brighter-looking skin beneath. They can help restore glow to tired, dull skin while targeting concerns such as acne, sun damage, pigmentation, fine line and wrinkles, and scarring.*

At the Health & Aesthetic Clinic, we use Obagi skin peels which are renowned for their gentle efficacy. Treatments include:

Obagi Stimulation Peel helps boost skin health thorough exfoliation and cellular stimulation of the deeper layers of the skin. Targets the signs of ageing as well as uneven skin texture, large pores, dullness and acne with very little downtime.*

Obagi Controlled Depth Peel is the latest version of Dr. Obagi’s famous Blue Peel. Helps to firm and tighten while smoothing skin with mild resurfacing. Our expert clinicians control the levels of TCA (trichloraceutic acid) used to penetrate at multiple levels in the dermis.

Obagi Blue Peel Radiance contains a unique blend of acids for a gentle but effective salicylic acid-based facial chemical peel. Skin should feel tighter, smoother and look brighter after just one treatment.*

Frequently Asked Questions

by our clinic in South East London
    • What is a skin peel?

By expertly applying a chemical exfoliant to the skin, outer layers are exfoliated and eventually peel away. The newer skin revealed is smoother and younger-looking. This rejuvenating treatment is also suitable for targeting conditions including acne, acne scarring and sun damage.*

    • Does it hurt?

Most people feel a brief burning sensation followed by numbness or stinging. This can vary depending on the peel you have.

    • How long does the treatment take?

This depends on the peel you’re having but expect to be with us for up to 60 minutes.

    • How often should I have a chemical peel?

This does depend on the results you’re looking to achieve and we’ll talk through this in detail during your consultation. Generally speaking, a course of skin peels (rather than a one-off treatment) will deliver longer-lasting results. Many people are so happy with their fresher looking skin, that they keep results topped up with a peel every few weeks.

    • How do I care for my skin after treatment?

You won’t need to take time off work (although your skin may look a little red and flushed at first). Avoid applying make-up for 24 hours after the treatment and use an SPF of 30+.

    • Are skin peels safe?

It’s common to experience redness, tingling and slight swelling after a skin peel, but this is an extremely safe procedure when carried out by a professional clinician.
